Cyber lab / digital twin
Rebuild the site you need to test. Change a zone, a firewall rule, or a protocol path, then repeat the same scenario against the replica.
Hybrid OT cyber range
Simetra is a hybrid OT cyber range: a digital twin of industrial systems that can also attach real devices. Teams validate architecture, run attack scenarios, and investigate incidents across simulated and physical assets — without exposing production.
The challenge
Industrial environments are built for continuous operation. A small disruption can have operational, financial, or safety consequences. Penetration testing and security validation often cannot be performed directly on production.
As threats evolve, teams need a realistic place to validate behavior, find weaknesses, and prepare for incidents — before those incidents reach critical operations.
What is a cyber range?
A cyber range is an environment that recreates IT or OT infrastructure — in full or in part — so teams can train, test, and validate under attack without putting a live plant at risk. Simetra is built for operational technology: control networks, PLCs, protocols, and the process they drive.
Rebuild the site you need to test. Change a zone, a firewall rule, or a protocol path, then repeat the same scenario against the replica.
Prove architecture and controls before go-live. Import operational and network logs, reconstruct events, and follow the attack path with evidence.
Keep part of the world virtual and plug real PLCs, switches, or field devices into the same range. One scenario, both sides.
Hybrid platform
A model is fast to change. Real firmware, vendor stacks, and I/O timing are not. Simetra connects both: the virtual plant and a slice of the physical world, on one isolated fabric.
OT networks, SCADA, virtual PLCs, and process behavior — including Siemens-style PLC environments and Modbus communications.
Bring a real controller, switch, radio, or skid into the range. The simulated side talks to hardware the same way a plant would.
Run an attack or a change that crosses virtual zones and physical devices. See where the path stops — or does not.
Physical gear in the range is test gear. Live units, live safety systems, and the operating plant stay disconnected.
One test fabric
The gateway is the join — not a jump to production. Combined tests move across both sides while the live plant stays out of scope.
Simulated plant · Range gateway · Physical devices. Production is never on this drawing.
How a test runs
Create and configure the replica. Connect hardware only when the model cannot stand in. Run, observe, analyze — then change a control and repeat the same scenario.
Core capabilities
Simetra combines industrial simulation, hybrid connection, cybersecurity validation, and incident analysis. It is the environment in which those activities can be done safely — not a scanner, GRC tool, or production SOC platform.
Recreate OT networks, assets, and workflows. Protocol customization where the site requires it.
Attach real PLCs, network equipment, and field devices so tests include firmware and I/O the model cannot fake.
A built-in SCADA layer interacts with simulated and connected devices without the customer’s production HMI.
External intrusion, insider threat, lateral movement, and multi-stage chains — against the replica, not the plant.
Exercise controls and zone designs that are too risky to prove in production. Change a control, repeat the scenario.
Bring operational and network logs into the simulation to reconstruct events and evaluate mitigation.

Overview film
A short introduction to why OT systems cannot be tested like IT, and what an isolated industrial cyber range is for. It is a brand film, not a product walkthrough.
